The Treetop Trail Lipno is one of the main attractions around Lipno Lake. This towering wooden structure offers a unique experience as you walk along the trail, passing through the treetops with children’s play areas dotted along the way. Kids can enjoy activities like balancing between logs and other small challenges designed to keep them entertained. The climb up the tower is easy and suitable for all ages. Once you reach the top, you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking views of Lipno Lake and its surrounding landscape. For those looking for some extra excitement, there’s a fast slide that older children and thrill-seekers can enjoy. Occasionally, the trail hosts evening events with live music, which requires a separate ticket.
About the Slide
The slide at Treetop Trail Lipno starts from the middle of the tower, not the very top, but it’s still a thrilling, long, and fast ride. It’s important to know the height restrictions to avoid disappointing younger children. Only those who are taller than 120 cm can use the slide, and you must use a special blanket to slide down, which speeds up the descent. Due to the speed, even kids who meet the height requirement might find it challenging. There have been reports of injuries on the slide, so caution is advised. Overall, the slide is a fun experience for those who love a bit of adventure.
Duration of excursion:
Set aside a whole day for the trip. At the Treetop Trail Lipno entrance, there’s a playground that the kids will love, plus many other activities in the area (see below).

Personal Recommendation: We hiked the Treetop Trail Lipno on a pleasant day, and it was a lovely experience. The view from the top is stunning. However, if you visit on a hot day, be prepared as there isn’t much shade along the trail. Our five-year-old and toddler enjoyed the walk, especially our toddler, who liked exploring the trail. However, our five-year-old was disappointed he couldn’t go down the slide.
Location
The Treetop Trail Lipno is centrally located around Lipno Lake, close to other attractions and the main cable car, near Hotel Element. If you’re traveling with kids, staying in the area is recommended as it reduces the need for frequent car rides. We stayed at the Amenity Hotel Lipno, which is just a short 3-minute drive or a bike ride away from the trail.

What Can Be Found There?
The Treetop Trail is a wooden path with safety fences that take you high up among the treetops. As you walk, you’ll be able to admire the forest below and catch glimpses of Lipno Lake on the horizon. Midway through the trail, there’s a slide you can ride down for an additional fee of 60 CZK per slide. Afterward, the path continues in a spiral up to the upper lookout, where you’ll get a full panoramic view of the lake and its surroundings.
How to Get There
You can’t drive directly to the start of the Treetop Trail. While it’s possible to hike up, it might not be suitable for everyone. The recommended way to reach the trail is to park near the cable car station, where parking is free. From there, you can take the cable car up, and the trail starts right next to the station.
Note: You can take a stroller or bicycle on the cable car, and the trail is stroller-friendly. For those seeking an adrenaline rush, you can also hike or bike back down. Alternatively, mountain scooters are available for rent at the top for a fun descent.
Who is It For?
The Treetop Trail Lipno is designed for the whole family. It’s an excellent option for anyone looking to enjoy nature, panoramic views, and a bit of adventure. However, younger children may not find the trail as engaging, especially if they aren’t tall enough for the slide.
