“The World of Jellyfish” (“Svět Medúz”) is a fascinating educational attraction located on the roof floor of the ARKADY mall in Prague 4. From the smallest jellyfish to the largest, most colorful species, this museum showcases aquariums filled with stunning mesmerizing creatures.

Although relatively small in scale, the museum offers a rich learning experience for visitors of all ages. The innovative design and layout of the aquariums are so unique that they are reportedly intended for a Guinness World Record in the future!

Personal Recommendation: The main criticism of “The World of Jellyfish” is that it can feel a bit pricey considering its size. However, I have to say that even though the space is not huge, we spent a full hour there and could have easily stayed longer. We had a great time exploring the exhibits—one of us stayed with the kids, while the other enjoyed shopping in the mall. Plus, we visited on a hot day, and the air conditioning made it a perfect activity to escape the heat!

How to Get There?

“The World of Jellyfish” is conveniently located in the ARKADY mall, which offers a mix of shopping and entertainment options.

It’s an excellent place for a family day out in Prague, as one parent can explore the jellyfish exhibits with the children while the other shop or relaxes.

The mall is right above Pankrác station on the yellow metro line, making it easy to reach, especially if you’re traveling with children.

There’s also a parking lot available if you prefer to drive.

Address: 140 00 Prague 4 – top floor.

What Stores Can You Find in ARKADY Mall?

ARKADY Mall is home to a wide range of stores, including popular brands like H&M, Sephora, Sporty, Skechers, Foot Locker, and more. For the full list of stores, you can check the ARKADYs’ official website.

Aquariums Exhibition:

Upon entering, you can buy your tickets on the ground floor before heading into the main exhibit area. You’ll find small aquariums filled with various species of jellyfish, all displayed under special lighting to highlight their beautiful colors and movements. There’s even a glowing jellyfish tank that is particularly stunning.

VR:

On the upper floor, you’ll discover more aquariums and a virtual reality experience that simulates diving in the sea (though the explanation is only available in Czech). Even though we didn’t understand the language, our kids loved it! There’s also a nice slide that takes you from the upper floor down to a plaza with moving lights, which the kids found very exciting.

Interactive Walls:

Across from the museum but in the same area, there’s a sparkling bistro that’s a great spot to relax. This recently built area is separate from the main exhibit and offers coffee, lemonade, a variety of desserts, and pizza.

The bistro also features interactive walls where children can paint jellyfish, astronauts, or submarines and see their creations come to life in this unique digital space. The coloring pages are free.

Special Playground:

If you head up to the roof, you’ll find a special playground painted in bright colors, with trampolines for the kids to jump on. Access to this playground is free, making it a great additional activity for the whole family.

Who Is It For?

The World of Jellyfish is great for all ages! Kids will love the various interactive activities and exhibits, while adults will appreciate the educational experience. We even saw groups of students there. It’s truly an activity for the whole family in Prague.

*In my opinion – the place is less attractive for teenagers
